'The Queen of Porn', Jenna Jameson, was born Jenna Marie Massoli on April 9 1974, to a Las Vegas police officer and a showgirl.

Jenna took part in numerous beauty pageants as a child, and studied ballet for many years, intending to follow in her late mother's footsteps and become a Las Vegas showgirl. She failed to realise this dream, however, as she fell short of the required 5'9” height; but by the time she left home at 16, she had already set her mind on becoming a stripper.

With the help of a fake ID, the seventeen year old Jenna secured a job at the Crazy Horse Too strip club, and became 'Jennasis'. Working here while finishing High School, Jenna learned the trade quickly and was soon making up to $2000 per night.

After a short break to tackle her drug problems, an ambitious and cleaned-up Jenna returned with a vengeance and her photographs were appearing in Hustler, Penthouse and High Society within a year.

Aged nineteen, Jenna made her first porn movie - a softcore, lesbian flick with her then girlfriend, Nikki Tyler. The movie was directed by Andrew Blake, and released in 1994 as 'Up and Cummers 11'. The same year, 'Cherry Pie', Jenna's first heterosexual porn movie, was also released. Jenna moved to LA and signed an exclusive contract with Wicked Pictures which entitled her to $6000 for each of the eight movies she would make with them.

In 1996, Jenna Jameson became the first porn actress ever to receive the three most coveted industry awards in a single year: AVN Best New Starlet, XRCO Best New Starlet and FOXE Video Vixen.

Despite never having anal sex on-screen, Jenna was making in the region of $60,000 per film by 2001; and two years later, she signed a seven-year deal with prestigious Vivid Entertainment Group.

Jenna set up Club Jenna in 2000: an Internet adult entertainment company which took the unusual step of offering explicit reading materials alongside the usual photographs and movie clips. The company later expanded into producing movies; and the first Club Jenna movie, 'Briana Loves Jenna' (2001), won two AVN awards and became the most popular porn movie of the year.

In 2005, Club Jenna declared an income of $30 million and bought a strip club in Arizona. Club Jenna was sold to Playboy the following year.

Having conquered the porn industry, Jenna turned her sights to the mainstream, appearing in Family Guy, lending her voice to the 2002 game 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City' and hosting her own reality tv show; but it was her best-selling autobiography, 'How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale', which solidified her status as a household name. The book was reviewed by all the respected literary publications, and spent six weeks in the New York Times Best Seller List.

Jenna Jameson merchandise ranges from ringtones to 'anatomically correct' dolls to lingerie, perfume, and beyond. Jenna has won nearly thirty industry awards, appeared in more than thirty movies, graced hundreds of magazine covers, done thousands of photo shoots and released her directorial debut - The Provocateur - in 2006. She is the only porn star to have ever had a statue in Madame Tussauds.

"The most important thing to me right now is to become the biggest star the industry has ever seen", so Jenna told the founder of Wicked Pictures when she signed a contract with them back in 1994; and there is no doubt that Jenna Jameson has now realised this dream - several times over.
