Crissy Moran was born in San Diego, California, on 22 December 1975; to parents of English, Irish and Polynesian descent. She has described herself as a shy, introverted child, with an intense dislike of the spotlight and just a small group of close friends.

Like many other women in the industry, Crissy graduated from high school and spent a number of years working in low-paid, uninspiring office and retail jobs. Crissy often held down more than one job; and, at one stage, was working in an office in the city, in a store and as a Hooter's waitress in the evenings.

Without the time or money for an exciting social life, Crissy was spending her evenings surfing the web - and in 1999, she came across a site which allowed aspiring models to upload pictures of themselves. She was surprised to see the amateurish quality of some of the pictures and, despite her intense shyness, was inspired to give it a go herself. The risk paid off and Crissy was receiving email responses within hours.

One of the responses Crissy received was from Harvey Butts, a glamour photographer, who spoke to the twenty-four year old for some time, reassuring her about the industry, and eventually carrying out her first photoshoot. She posted the professional-quality pictures on the same website and was began receiving offers of work almost immediately. Crissy regularly flew out to Los Angeles for photoshoots and castings, and it was around this year that she met the man who would later become her manager.

At this early stage in her career, Crissy worked only on softcore productions; but as time went on, she moved towards the hardcore end of the market, exploring both lesbian and heterosexual sex, fetishism, bondage and sex toys. Crissy appeared in just less than forty movies, working with all the top studios and production companies, including Digital Playground, Adam & Eve and New Sensations. She also had some success with her print work, appearing in Playboy's Book of Lingerie, Hustler, AVN and High Society, and gracing the cover of the Castrol Oil 2001 calendar. Crissy also appeared on television screens and billboards in three national advertising campaigns for a variety of products.
Crissy is best known, however, for her web work. As well as posing for eleven major adult entertainment sites, Crissy began to develop a significant web presence with her own personal site and prided herself on maintaining good relationships with her fans and personally responding to fan emails. She worked closely with Hot Curves - the adult image distribution company which uses her body profile as its logo - giving an exclusive photoshoot for the site.

The adult entertainment industry was shocked in October 2006 to learn of Crissy Moran's decision to leave the business. Her public statement stated that she has turned to Christianity and subsequently recognised the "evils" of porn. She has since gone on to speak in depth about the "abuse" she suffered while working in the porn industry, and says: "I have been suicidal since my early 20's. I have been abused. I have been exposed to so much evil and have survived and am ready to hand all that I am over to the Lord to do with me as he wishes".
She has joined forces with 'XXXChurch', a Christian organisation that seeks to 'rescue' performers from porn, and is attempting to have her pictures and movies removed from the web. It is believed that she is currently retraining as a nurse.
