Biography of Briana Banks

Born May 1978 in Munich, Germany , Briana Banks was christened 'Briana Bany'. Aged three, Briana and her family moved to Britain; and, four years later, to California, where they settled. When she turned eighteen, Briana applied for US Citizenship and adopted her sixteen year old sister, then spent the next three years working in a variety of low-paid jobs – in an arts and crafts store, pizza parlour, cosmetics company; until, aged 21 and tired of having no money, she decided to try modelling.

5'9”, slim and unusually beautiful, Briana had some success in 'straight' modelling and appeared in Teen magazine; but the extra money drew her to nude photographic modelling, and her first Penthouse spread appeared that same year. She worked with a number of other men's magazines, before making her first movie - “University Coeds 18” - under the stage name 'Mirage'.

On the advice of fellow porn star, Lita Chase, Briana decided on an image change in 2000. She bleached her hair, got breast implants and renamed herself 'Briana Banks'. Max Hardcore's Pure Max 1 and Decadent Divas 9 set the tone for her new, wild, hardcore image, and she was described by one journalist as a “do-anything dazzler”. Where Mirage had been a 'shy sex kitten', Briana Banks was wild and insatiable, specialising in rough and hardcore sex.

In 2001, Briana's career really took off. She was awarded the Hot D'Or Cannes ‘Best American New Starlet’ prize, made the centrefold in April's High Society magazine and graced the covers of AVN and Club. She was also the June ‘Penthouse Pet of the Month’, and honoured with a twelve-page spread, exclusive pictorial and her 36” legs dubbed the longest in the business. She appeared in dozens of films over that year, and worked with all the top studios; including starring roles in Legend's American Nymphette 2 and Nymph Fever 4.

Also in June 2001, Briana signed a two-year contract with the prestigious Vivid Entertainment Group, agreeing to appear in a minimum of nine movies per year; and her already considerable reputation sky-rocketed. One of Briana's first films with Vivid, 'Briana Loves Jenna', is still her most popular and best selling movie; and Briana quickly became one of the 'Vivid girls' best loved by fans.

The following year, Briana followed in the footsteps of the likes of Jenna Jameson, and had an action figure doll made in her likeness. She received two AVN awards in 2003; and a year later, she was one of the top porn stars to contribute to Vivid's 'guidebook', 'How To Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide'.

Briana remains one of the best loved of the 'Vivid girls', and has said that she intends to keep making movies with the company.
